Anti-Haul: Makeup I WILL NOT Be Buying

Hello lovelies!

We're almost ten days into Blogtober! I can't quite believe that this is the ninth post! Today's post is a little different! I'm sharing with you what makeup I won't be buying!

I've seen this anti-haul craze floating around Youtube over the past few weeks and basically it's a post/video/whatever where you state what products you won't be buying for whatever reason!

I've actually really enjoyed watching and reading people's content on this topic! It's nice to get some differing opinions on certain products and lines. It's also nice to know that you're not the only one not buying a really hyped product 🙈

1. The Jaclyn Hill Palette by Morphe
I'm getting the most "OMG" one out of the way first. Yes I am not getting the Jaclyn Hill palette. And yes I hate myself a little bit for it. Don't get me wrong, I still love Jaclyn with all my soul, I am ride or die for that woman! She's fab! But I'm just not crazy for the palette. It looks amazing!! It has all the shades I love and then some! I was drooling when it was announced but when the launch day arrived, I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. Mainly because it was £38 on Beauty Bay. THIRTY EIGHT POUNDS. For a Morphe palette. Which are normally £20? I just think it's a bit expensive! Last year I wouldn't have even thought about the price and just bought it but now? I'm just really disillusioned with high end makeup right now. That's a whole other post for a different day because I'm veering away from the point! I still love Jaclyn and her videos but I'm passing on her palette!

2. KKW Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics
I AM SO OVER THE BLOODY KARDASHIANS. There, I said it. More specifcally, I am so over their beauty products. I got caught up on the Kylie lip kit hype when they first came out and yes they're nice liquid lipsticks but are they worth the price PLUS the international shipping PLUS the £20-£25 customs I have to pay when the postman delivers them? HELL NO. I have Makeup Revolution and Colour Pop liquid lipsticks which are a fraction of the price and they're just as good! I bought one of her first eyeshadow palettes and again it's a nice product but did it smash every other palette I own out of the park? Nope. My disillusionment with Kylie Cosmetics has put me right off KKW Beauty as well because I imagine the products would be of the same quality and they're just not worth the $$$ when you factor in all the outside costs.

3. Anastasia Beverley Hills 'Subculture' Palette
Little late to the game talking about this as this was one of the most talked about releases of the summer but even before all the backlash, I wasn't going to buy this palette. I adore my Modern Renaissance palette and I really need to use it more but the shade range in this palette just didn't tick my boxes in the same way that the MR did when it was first announced. Then came the backlash. Oh the backlash. This palette got utterly trashed on the Youtube and beauty blog circuit. Chalky formula and very little pigment. Yikes!! Makes me glad that I didn't drop my money on it.

4. Jeffree Star Cosmetics
I've never liked Jeffree Star. He's just not my cup of tea and I've read a few stories about him that make me less inclined to try and like him. So his cosmetics have never been top of my to get list. I was tempted by the 'Androgyny' palette because the shade range is bloody amazing but ultimately I opted not to. I just don't find his range to be anything all that special? I'm sure if I was a fan, I'd be completely the other way but I'm not so it's a no from me!

5. OFRA x NikkieTutorials Collection
As with Jaclyn, I still love Nikkie! I think she's great, it's just that this collab is not for me. When she launched with Too Faced a while back I ordered it INSTANTLY and I've used that palette a grand total of one time. It wasn't great quality and put me off Too Faced products in general. I'm not saying that all Nikkie's collabs will be the same, it's just that the bad experience has put me off buying the OFRA collection. It's also expensive af. £25 for the highlight alone. Yeah not for me!

I hope this post didn't come across as too whiny? I enjoyed writing it but I'm worried that some might take it the wrong way! All of the above is just my personal opinion! Not hating on any influencers mentioned etc.

Anyways, what makeup would be in your anti-haul? Let me know in the comments!
