Sorry For Slacking!

Today's Blogtober post is going to be very short. A very short apology. I've been letting Blogtober slip and I'm so bloody annoyed at myself. Not that I feel that I need to apologise, I just want to make this post so I can hold myself accountable to it 😅

My Holiday Reads!

As some of you may know, I'm heading off on my holidays next week! I'm going to Vancouver which involves some pretty long flights! I've put some films on my iPad to watch but I also want to get some reading done! For day twelve of Blogtober I thought I'd share what I'm planning to read!

Falling In Love With Life Again

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day. Social media was full of positive quotes and stories being shared. It was uplifting but also incredibly overwhelming. I talk a lot about mental health and my struggles with my own but I still balk at going into specifics because it's hard. It's hard to write down or even speak aloud something that you've only recently begun to acknowledge.

I discovered this when I sat down last night to try and put my mental health journey into words for a blog post. I came up blank. It actually made me feel incredibly anxious and overwhelmed. I guess I'm still not ready to talk about it. However I can talk about how much I'm loving life at the moment. My mental health is a big part of how I got here and I'm gonna share it in a short but sweet post for Blogtober day eleven.

My Top Amazon Prime Video Picks

Hello lovelies!

We're officially ten days into Blogtober! Next up in my subscription service miniseries (I don't know if that's what I'm officially calling it but it has a nice ring, I guess!) is my top picks from Amazon Prime Video!

Anti-Haul: Makeup I WILL NOT Be Buying

Hello lovelies!

We're almost ten days into Blogtober! I can't quite believe that this is the ninth post! Today's post is a little different! I'm sharing with you what makeup I won't be buying!

I Heart Makeup Rose Gold Palette Review + Look

Hello lovelies!

For the seventh day of Blogtober I have another review and look for you all! The I Heart Makeup Rose Gold Palette! Or by it's right name, which I've since discovered since making my header 🙈, The 'I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold' palette. I hope you'll all forgive the faux pas!

My Top Netflix Picks

Hello lovelies!

Welcome to Blogtober day six! Let's talk Netflix! Who doesn't love a good Netflix binge? It's literally one of the things that makes me happiest in the world. Sounds corny but my happy place is being comfy and watching a good series! Doesn't have to be on Netflix though! I'm gonna be doing a mini series throughout Blogtober where I'm going to be sharing my top binge worthy picks on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Now TV! Of course I'm gonna start with the binge king: Netflix!

Falling For Fall Tag

Hello lovelies!

I was tagged by the lovely Meggan over at Cardigan Jezebel to do the 'Falling For Fall' tag and I thought it would be the perfect post for Blogtober day four!

BPerfect Cosmetics x LMD Master Palette Review + Look

Hello lovelies!

Welcome to day three of Blogtober! It is another palette review and look! I am going to mix up the posts so they're not all beauty related but I got this palette on Friday and I had to review it!

Soph X Makeup Revolution Review + Look

For Blogtober Day 2 I am collaborating with my gorgeous friend Hayley from WearAHalo so please do nip over and give her blog some love! She's a wonderful photographer and her blog photography makes me green with envy! We've teamed up to do a makeup look and review post with the highly anticipated Soph x Makeup Revolution palette!

Things I'm Grateful For + BLOGTOBER!

Hello and Happy October! I am so excited for this month! This summer was not the best was it? Very few sunny days and mostly horrible rain does not a good summer make. Now that it's finally autumn, I can start wearing boots and cosy jumpers again which makes me super happy.

I also have a great trip to Vancouver coming up in a couple of weeks which I am absolutely buzzing for. It's gonna be a good month hopefully!

Book Review: The Dancing Girl And The Turtle by Karen Kao

There seems to be a theme developing with the books that I'm signing up to review! In that they're books that are outside my usual realm of reading. I'm not one for venturing out of my reading comfort zone but when the sign up for the blog tour for this book popped up on Twitter, I was intrigued so I gave it a go and I am so glad I did.

#NIBlogger Brunch Take Two!

Hello lovelies!

I hope you’re all having a great Monday! Mine so far has been fuelled by coffee and daydreams about the absolutely lush brunch I went to last week in Belfast.

Last Sunday was the second #NIBloggerBrunch event hosted by Cathy Martin of CMPR Ireland. I went to the first ever blogger brunch back in May and had such a fab time so when the invitation to the second event popped into my inbox, I jumped at the chance to go!

Book Review: Deadly Burial by Jon Richter

Happy Sunday lovelies! I hope you're having a wonderfully lazy day filled with brunch and Netflix surfing!

Today's post is something rather special! My first ever book review on this blog! And it's my first time ever posting for a book blog tour! How bloody exciting!

Mid-Year Goals!

It's July.

JULY.

More to the point it's the end of July

There's just over four months left of 2017.

That is frankly terrifying because I feel like I've done NOTHING this year.
Well I have done stuff. Lots of stuff but I still have lots more that I want to accomplish!

My Tattoo Story #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

For as long as I can remember I've struggled with my mental health. I don't remember a time when I didn't feel like my own mind was conspiring against me. I know there was a time when it wasn't an issue because I only started having mental health issues when I was fifteen but I honestly can't with perfect clarity recall any of it. I have the memories but there's no emotional connection to them. Like looking at a picture book of pretty scenes and thinking "That's nice" but not feeling anything. I've had mental health problems for so long that they just feel like they've always been a part of me.

I realised at age eighteen that I was suffering from depression and that I had been suffering with it since I was fifteen. I have a tough ongoing battle with depression. When I go low, I go so low I think there's no way out. I've had suicidal thoughts. I suffered from severe anxiety due to depression to the point where I physically couldn't leave the house. My mental health story is messy and someday I'll be able to write it all down and share it but not today. I'm not ready yet.

Instead I'm going to share the story behind my tattoo.

Hello May

I'm going to sound like a right granny but how the hell is it May?! We're already in the fifth month of 2017. Where does the time go?! Seriously can we have a pause button or something because this year is going way too fast for me 🙈

I bloody love May. It's the start of summer (Theoretically, I mean I do live in Northern Ireland so there are no guaranteed seasons 😅) and it's usually a jam packed month for me! I'm well excited for what this month will bring!

Friday Favourites #3

I'm back, back again, with Friday Favourites #2. I've decided that this isn't going to be a weekly thing but more of an as and when I feel like I'm loving enough stuff to post kinda thing. Which could be weekly! You never know! I don't have a crystal ball to tell me what the coming weeks entail so I'm not making any promises. Just going with the flow. Although I do know there won't be one next Friday because I'm spending the week in Lanzarote without my laptop 😉

Pushing Through The Dark

This post has been sitting in my drafts folder for a few weeks now. Unedited and unfinished. I wasn't sure if I was ever going to post it or really if I'm being honest, if I was going to post anything ever again.

Friday Favourites #1

I am completely rubbish at doing monthly favourites and all those sort of posts. Absolutely dreadful. Mainly because I'm a creature of habit and I don't often try new things! However 2017 if nothing else is going to be a year of change and growth for me so I'm starting a new series here on the blog. A Friday Favourites series where every week I tell you what's been tickling my pickle for the last seven days. Or ya know, a less disturbing simile!

One Year On! + GIVEAWAY!

Three hundred and sixty-five (give or take about four) days ago I posted my first post on this blog. This wasn't my first blog by any means but this little blog has been the first one where I've really felt like I found my blogging groove. I've spoken a bit about that lately so I won't dwell on it but if nothing else the last year on this blog has been a real learning curve for me. I've sort of found my writing style which is great and I'm excited to see what the next year brings for my wee blog.

2017 Goals

Just like everyone else on the planet I'm terrible for making resolutions for the new year, keeping to them for a week and then completely forgetting they existed. I have a lot I want to accomplish in 2017 though so instead of making resolutions, I'm setting myself some goals! So different to resolutions, right?!
